The festive season is a time for joy, love, and togetherness, but most importantly, it’s a time to embrace the magic of giving. This Christmas, our parent company Family First Nurseries is spreading that magic far and wide through our heart-warming campaign, celebrating kindness and community spirit.
This Christmas, our mission is clear: to brighten lives by embracing the true magic of giving. Through this campaign, we’re not only teaching children the power of small acts of kindness but also extending support to families in need, reflecting the very heart of our ‘Family First’ ethos.

One Mission: To Give Back
Across Family First’s 100 nurseries, our teams have embraced the giving spirit, organising their own initiatives to spread love and kindness in their communities. Here are just a few highlights:
- Manor Farm Day Nursery, Sandy: Families are donating new pyjamas for children spending the festive season battling cancer in hospital.
- Poppies Day Nursery, Holmer Green: Children are performing a heart-warming Christmas nativity at a local care home to bring cheer to its residents.
- Kloisters Kindergarten and Preschool, Rochester: Christmas presents are being donated to their local children’s hospital.
- Woodberry Day Nursery Fawley: The team kindly donated their Secret Santa gifts to the Dunelm Christmas present appeal. They are also expecting a visit from Santa in a fire engine to delight the children, while raising funds for a local charity.
- The Brentford Day Nursery and Pre-school: The team have set up a “Giving Tree” and are providing grocery assistance to local families in need.
- The Carshalton Day Nursery & Preschool: A children’s art auction is being hosted, along with creating handwritten cards for the elderly.
- CherryHarbour Nursery, Hayling Island: The nursery is hosting a Christmas bake sale to raise funds for a children’s hospital.
- Ellingham House Day Nursery, Ringwood: Donations of advent calendars are going to the local food bank.
It means so much to us to be able to support families who need it most. Being in and out of our nurseries every day, I’ve had the privilege of building relationships with so many wonderful families. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to help bring a little joy and put smiles on their faces this Christmas Day.

How We’re Supporting Families in Need
We’re also extending a helping hand to families in our community nurseries who might otherwise go without. We’ve identified 25 families who face daily challenges just to put food on the table, and we’ve set a few initiatives into motion to provide meaningful support:
- Donating Christmas Dinners: Each family will receive all the ingredients needed to cook a Christmas dinner, ensuring they can enjoy a festive meal together.
- Gifts for Every Child: Our support team is hosting their very own ‘Bake Off’ to raise funds, making sure every child has a gift to unwrap on Christmas morning. Watch as Tony Hollywood (Tony Page, CEO) and Emily Berry (Emily Burgess, Early Years Director) put their culinary skills to the test in a lively competition. Expect an artful mess, lots of laughs, and plenty of team spirit!
- Toy and Coat Donations; Teams are contributing nearly new toys and coats to support families at our community nurseries.
We see first-hand the challenges some families face, and being able to ease their burden, even a little, during the festive season means everything to us. It’s about coming together as a community to spread joy and ensure every child feels the magic of Christmas
